Athlon Judo did not disappoint and took home heavy medals from the Italian Open for wrestling, freestyle and Greco-Roman which was held on 16 December at the Palafijlkam in Ostia Lido. The national event saw the company of master Louis Bucci win two gold medals in women’s free wrestling with two of its top athletes.
Syria Perrone won in the 50kg category while Natascia Giaconella in the 59kg category. Both fighters won by technical superiority. But that’s not the only satisfaction for Athlon at the last event of the Italian wrestling season. The Coratina club finished second, with 20 points, in the team classification behind only Kodokan Brescia.
