The Asturian team of judo veterans finished the Spanish championship that was held in Navarra with a fantastic record, obtaining a total of five medals. The judokas of the Principality won three silver medals and two more bronze medals. The silver went to Beatriz Fernández (F1/+78), Mario Crespo (M3/+100) and Emilio Farrés (M7/-90), who only lost in the final. For his part, Daniel Kraut (M6/-73, and Manuel Acuña (M9/-73) achieved bronze. Mario Vieira, for his part, finished in fifth position (M3/-66).
