Busy but beautiful and exciting day today. Invited by Pope Francis, together with many other artists of Nativity scene art from all over Italy, we gathered around him, who supported and encouraged us so much, with his words. To keep the tradition alive this year marks the eighth centenary of its invention by San Francesco in Greccio.

Today the pontiff reminded us that “the purpose of the Living Nativity Scene is to awaken in the heart the amazement in front of the son of God who became a child”. Ariccia is always there, and continues, today more than ever, with the same enthusiasm as always, to carry on tradition and faith.

After the audience in the Paul VI hall we visited St. Peter’s Basilica, stopped to pray and admired its beauty. Subsequently, together with everyone else, we moved to Santa Maria Maggiore, to bring to life an immense nativity scene that speaks all the Italian dialects. The procession with all the groups present was beautiful.

Many people met, experiences shared, stories heard. This day was a true gift from God, thanks to the president of the “FRIENDS by CASE” Association Ovidio Bianchi, who immediately understood that this would be an unforgettable experience and worked tirelessly to organize everything to perfection and make it possible. our participation. A huge thank you also goes to the Municipal Administration of Ariccia, to the mayor Gianluca Staccoli and to the municipal councilors Anita Luciano and Irene Falcone who worked so hard to allow participation in the event and to ensure that Ariccia was present and is represented in this great occasion in San Pietro and Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore.
