It is not only in Paris in 2024 that the Olympic Games will be organized. In Ardèche, the departmental council kicked off its own Olympics last week. An Olympic flame was lit in Vernoux-en-Vivarais in the presence of more than a thousand schoolchildren. A particularity of the Ardèche competition is that it is the schoolchildren who participate. And their enthusiasm, during the opening ceremony, delighted the Ardèche athletes present such as the world kayak champion, Quentin Bonnetain, and the professional cyclist, Greta Richioud: “The young Ardèche competitors have a unique chance to show their talent and I can’t wait to see the remarkable performances they will achieve during the Ardèche’O Jeux 2024.”
