“An iced Stelvio, I feel good”

The second training of the men’s downhill in Bormio, Alpine Skiing World Cup 2023-2024, ended up in the scrapbook. On the “Stelvio“, the best was the Norwegian Aleksander Aamodt Source who achieved a time of 1’52″26, 0″32 ahead of the Swiss Nils Hintermann and the Canadian by 0″37 Cameron Alexanderwith French Cyprien Sarrazin author of the fourth time (+0″38) and highlighted yesterday with the best result in the first timed test.

In Italy, the best was Mattia Cassewho finished in tenth place, 1″01 behind Kilde, very close to the Swiss Marco Odermatt (+0″96). “It’s a really demanding, icy Stelvio. I’m getting better and better, I’m confident. Now the goal is to trust my corner entry more and more, even in icy conditions. Tomorrow will be a tight race, there are many of us skiing well”, his words (Source: FISI).

There are great expectations for Dominik Paris who, having scored on the Saslong in Val Gardena, would like to reply to Bormio, on a track that he particularly loves (seven victories, of which six downhill). The South Tyrolean concluded 25° the second timed test 2″25 from the summit: “The track is always tough, even with these temperatures. The victory in Val Gardena gave us a lot of confidence, but tomorrow will be another story, we’ll start from scratch. We will have to attack: on a track like this anything can happen”, the considerations of the Italian skier (Source: FISI).

As for the rest of the tricolor troop, worth mentioning Giovanni Franzoni who set the thirteenth overall time, but missed a door (+1″61) and the nineteenth place for Florian Schieder who charged 2″03 from Kilde.
