Alouettes: reunion with the Blue Bombers to start the season

The Montreal Alouettes will be treated to some well-felt hostility during their inaugural meeting of the 2024 season, which they will begin on June 6 against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, as provided for in the schedule unveiled Thursday by the Canadian Football League ( LCF).

Thus, it will begin with a rematch duel between the two finalists of the last Gray Cup, won 28 to 24 by the Sparrows. The Montreal team will also play its first two games abroad, as it then has an appointment with the Edmonton Elks eight days later.

As for the inaugural local meeting, it will take place on June 20 when the Ottawa Rouge et Noir will appear at Percival-Molson Stadium. However, fans will have a first chance to applaud their favorites during a preparatory duel on May 25 against the Toronto Argonauts.

In addition, a few notable duels will arouse the interest of the public here. The visit of the Bombers is expected, except that we will have to wait a long time before seeing them again in Montreal. In fact, the two clubs will meet again in the last week of the campaign, on October 26. Also, the Alouettes will face the “Argos” three times, whom they defeated in the 2023 Eastern final: only one of these games, on July 11, will take place in the Birds’ nest.

Head coach Jason Maas’ men will also play three times against Ottawa and twice against other CFL teams.

The next Gray Cup is scheduled for November 17 at BC Place in Vancouver.
