The Carabinieri of the Velletri Company arrested two citizens of Albanian nationality, a 50-year-old and a 20-year-old, father and son, as they were seriously suspected, in complicity, of the crime of attempted murder against a man from Ariccia.
On the night of 23 December, a 47-year-old Italian national, already known to the police, was transported to the Nuovo Ospedale dei Castelli in Ariccia by two Albanian citizens with a stab wound. Since he was in critical condition, he underwent emergency surgery and was admitted to intensive care. On site, the Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Velletri Company stopped the two Albanian citizens believed to be involved and immediately proceeded with a personal and local search, finding two knives, one of which is believed to have been used in the attack.
The first investigations carried out by the Carabinieri of the Velletri Company, based on wiretaps, acquisition of video surveillance and summary information, made it possible to gather serious indications of guilt regarding the fact that the dispute took place on Corso Garibaldi, in the historic center of Ariccia, in the near the bar managed by one of the two suspects. The injured man had gone on foot to the aforementioned Bar, armed with a knife and had attacked the 50-year-old Albanian, hitting him at chest level. At that point his son, in an attempt to defend his injured father, took part in the argument. During the scuffle, the 47-year-old Italian suffered a stab wound which caused significant blood loss, so much so that the two Albanian citizens worked to transport him to the nearby emergency room.
The magistrate on duty, following the investigations carried out, proceeded with the interrogation of the arrested persons who on the morning of 24 December were accompanied to the Velletri prison, where the arrest of both was validated by the Judge of the Court of Velletri who confirmed for both detained in prison.
