Adrien Trebel Recalls Key Moment That Led to His Departure from Standard

Adrien Trebel will return to Standard this Saturday evening with Sporting de Charleroi. The former Rouche stayed on the banks of the Meuse between 2014 and 2017 after a stint in Nantes. In the winter of 2017, Trebel left Rouches and joined, to everyone’s surprise, Anderlecht.

Questioned by our colleagues from Eleven Sport, the current Carolo recalled the key moment which pushed him to leave the club. The event takes place in December 2016, before the transfer window. He explains: “We have Christmas dinner with the team. I will see him and ask to be able to leave 30/40 minutes earlier. He asks me why. I tell him it’s to pick up my wife at the airport, it’s the first time she’s come to Belgium. He said to me, “She’s doing fine.”

He then specifies: “I warned him during the week, I take it badly. So I’m not going to the meal. Knowing 4000% that there will be consequences that will not work in my favor” he continues for Eleven.
