Adapted Archery Takes Center Stage at 75th Anniversary Evita National Games

On its 75th anniversary, the Evita National Games added a new discipline. This is adapted archery, which had its competitions at the Tiro Federal facilities in Mar del Plata.

The adapted archery sessions were complemented by functional classifications, practices and, finally, competitions. On this occasion, the activity was divided into three categories and was not divided by age, sex or type of bow.

“We are very happy to begin this path in which we were accompanied at all times by the National Sports Secretariat and we want to take advantage of this opportunity. Archery is continually growing, as is adapted sport in general,” said Diego Llorden, coordinator of this discipline.

“The Evita Games are a hotbed for Argentine sport and adapted archery has the challenge of keeping the bar very high. Beyond competition, which is very important, there is a challenge that is linked to inclusion and enjoyment,” Llorden concluded.

In this edition of the Evita National Games, 12 disciplines participate. In addition to archery, there are athletics, badminton, wheelchair basketball, boccia, goalball, 3-a-side soccer, swimming, para volleyball, powerlifting, adapted tennis and table tennis.
