Abu Dhabi to Host 2024 World Judo Championships

India, Georgia, China? It will ultimately be in the United Arab Emirates, in the capital Abu Dhabi, that the next World Judo Championships will take place from May 19 to 24, 2024.

Since 2009, this country has been a partner of the International Federation. Abu Dhabi first hosted a Grand Prix, which became a Grand Slam. Located two months before the start of the Olympic Games in Paris (July 26-August 11), the global deadline will be the last major opportunity to qualify for the Games and in particular bring back precious points for the Olympic ranking. Knowing that being in the top 8 of each category allows you to be seeded and avoid a dense draw until the quarter-finals.

As the organizing country of the Olympic Games, France has a guaranteed quota in each of the fourteen categories (7 women, 7 men). The Federation will send athletes according to their situation as the Games approach.
