A real shame: «I’m sorry for the two-stroke approach because there was a gap in determination and malice that we suffered. Halfway through the first half we had taken control of the game and I was hoping to equalize, but they proved that they are at another level even if they conceded a little more than before. Honestly, however, I didn’t expect to come here and create four goals.”

In the second half we lacked pressure so everything became difficult. We still wanted to keep the game balanced by staying together without accepting an open-field game and then taking risks in the last twenty minutes, but we didn’t succeed.” On the four Spanish teams first in their respective groups: «Last year the Italians were good and it seemed there was a reversal of trend, but I always said it was probably the random effect of certain draws.
