46th Departmental Sports Games of Antioquia, Apartadó – Chigorodó 2023. Medellín champion in badminton and Bello first in karate-do. Apartadó continues ahead in the general medals and in archery, judo and weightlifting. Rionegro is a solid leader in table tennis. This Saturday they start chess and swimming in Chigorodó.

In an exciting day held on Friday, December 1, the Apartadó and Chigorodó 2023 Departmental Sports Games bid farewell to the karate-do and badminton disciplines with honors. The tatami witnessed Bello’s mastery, winning twelve gold medals, followed by the representation of Medellín with ten. Meanwhile, in the fast-paced world of rackets and shuttlecocks, Medellín claimed the title with eleven gold medals, leaving Apartadó with two in the sport.

Partially, in archery and judo, the local Apartadó delegation maintains its dominance, leading both disciplines with ten gold medals each. Likewise, in weightlifting, they consolidate their position with a total of 27 gold.

With these results, the general medal table leans in favor of Apartadó, which holds the first position with 51 gold medals, supported by 17 silver and 32 bronze. Medellín is in second position with 32 gold, 26 silver and 41 bronze. Itagüí occupies third place with 17 gold, 20 silver and 23 bronze. Envigado and Bello occupy fourth and fifth position with 16 and 15 gold medals, respectively.

The next day, scheduled for Saturday, December 2, will bring with it the excitement of chess at the José de los Santos Zúñiga Educational Institution, and aquatic skill with swimming races in the Comfenalco pools, both events in Chigorodó.

In addition, it should be noted that the finals of team sports will be played, among which are women’s and men’s basketball, women’s and men’s handball, men’s soccer, men’s baseball and mixed ultimate.

The sporting fervor continues at its peak in these games that celebrate the talent and dedication of athletes from the various municipalities of Antioquia.
