1st SKV Speyer Shines at 31st International Odenwald Cup Karate Tournament

at the 31st International Odenwald Cup

Speyer.Karate: With 428 starters from three nations and 78 clubs, the event in the Weschnitztalhalle in Mörlenbach, Hesse, is one of the top events in Germany. The 1st Shotokan Karate Club Speyer took part in this renowned tournament with 13 karatekas, which has been an integral part of the event calendar for years. Our athletes were able to demonstrate their skills in various age and competition categories.

The placements in detail:

Carolina Griessel won gold in the youth category. Silver went to Luca Göddelmann, Lara Kirchgessner, Nepheli Karkanis and the Kata Team Mixed with Lia Zechinato, John Völker and Felix Glas. Which came as a special surprise because the three of them only recently joined forces as a team.

Mica Eksilmez secured bronze twice. Another impressive third place went to Alena Sternberger, who had to assert herself among the adults for the first time. Lia Zechinato and Lara Neuwirth narrowly missed out on a podium place in their student category, each finishing in fifth place.

The 1. SKV Speyer is thus ending its extremely successful competition season and can start the new year motivated after the Christmas holidays.
