Because Wimbledon winner Carlos Alcaraz from Spain won 6:4, 6:4 in Turin on Friday against the Russian Daniil Mevedev, who had already qualified for the semi-finals, Zverev’s last group game in the evening (after this edition went to press) against the Russian Andrei Rublyov was of no importance. Instead, Alcaraz secured their place in the semi-finals. Zverev had already struggled with his situation before the last group games. “I’m now in an unfavorable situation. However, Zverev did not want to blame the Russian for the initial situation and the elimination. “If I don’t make it, I can’t blame anyone for it. Zverev will now go on vacation after the game against Rublev.
