We will send several short-term dispatchers to Egypt each year to improve the skills of the Egyptian national judo team and to spread judo in Egypt. The first one is Mr. Kadota, who departed on October 29th.

Since this dispatch is a two-year long-term dispatch, we put out a call for recruitment at Tenri University for graduates of our university’s judo club, and Mr. Kadota was selected from among the applicants and was dispatched after training. have become.

At the meeting, Mr. Kadota talked about his motivation for applying to join the JICA Overseas Cooperation Volunteers. When he was a student at Tenri University, a Portuguese world judo champion took a technique course at Tenri University, and senior members of the judo club communicated with him in fluent English. After that, Mr. Kadota received advice from his seniors on how to communicate with overseas players and study methods to improve his language skills, and he studied English hard during the year when he was unable to practice due to injury.
After returning from injury, he worked hard at training with the judo club, and has supported the university’s judo club in various ways, such as actively taking on the role of attending to athletes from overseas, and has found this dispatch to be a unique opportunity. He said he had captured it.

President Nagao said, “Although you may have concerns not only about communication but also about your daily life, I want you to take care of your body and do your best without worrying about it.It will be a long period of two years, but you can set goals for yourself each year. “I think it would be a good idea to spend your time while building your own mindset. I would be happy if you could convey the spirituality you cultivated through Tenri Judo to the people of Egypt. I hope you come back two years from now with lots of souvenirs and stories.” I encouraged Mr.

In addition, based on the collaboration, a “Volunteer Collaboration Project Preliminary Inspection” was held in March this year with our university, JICA Kansai, and Tenri City, and at a subsequent report meeting, “JICA short-term dispatchers”, who are scheduled to be dispatched for about one month, were announced.
