The death of Peter Seidler moved many people around Major League Baseball (MLB), and especially the city community, as well as within the club. To celebrate his life, Japanese pitcher Yu Darvish paid a moving tribute to the late owner of the San Diego Padres.

As soon as the news about Seidler’s death began to spread, pitcher Darvish dedicated a few words to him through his social media account, in which he showed how important the club owner was in Farid’s stay with the Friars.

‘My heart aches with the unfortunate news of the passing of Peter Seidler. “I’m sure everyone who knew him would agree with me when I say that Peter was a truly wonderful human being and being in his presence was always a blessing,” the five-time Major League All-Star wrote on X (formerly Twitter). Suspenders. “He was a teacher of life and he taught me countless lessons in all the interactions we had.”

Darvish not only dedicated a few words to him through social networks, but was the only player caught attending Seidler’s memorial that was installed in Petco Park 24 hours after the news of his death was announced. Together with his wife, Farid went with a bouquet of flowers that they left at the site where they also said a small prayer before leaving.

Darvish, unlike other players, has a permanent residence in San Diego, which made it easier for him to attend the park to pay a small tribute to the former president and former owner of the club.

Darvish came to San Diego in a trade with the Chicago Cubs, who also parted ways with catcher Victor Caratini. After three seasons with the club, Yu Darvish signed a six-year, $108 million contract with the Padres, who will have him in their ranks at least until 2028.
