ÖFB national player Patrick Wimmer, who plays for German Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg, has to undergo an operation on the torn syndesmotic ligament in his right ankle. The 22-year-old’s club announced this on Thursday.

However, Wolfsburg did not mention the expected duration of Wimmer’s absence. The right winger injured his ankle in the league game against Augsburg at the weekend.
