Wilfredo Tovar promoted Leones’ offensive

Leones del Caracas remains at the top of the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) after beating the Tigres de Aragua 3-10 at the Simón Bolívar Monumental Stadium.

The team showed impressive offensive capacity that started with a triple by Eliezer Alfonzo Jr. in left field to drive Oswald Peraza.

In the bottom of the fourth inning José Rondón hit his seventh home run of the season all the way to left field. Immediately afterwards, Eliezer Alfonzo gave another hit for Aldrem Corredor to score.

In that same inning, Gabriel Noriega drove in another drive and later Wilfredo Tovar hit a powerful home run through left field to send Eliezer Alfonzo Jr. and Gabriel Noriega to the plate.

For the eighth inning, the long-haired team continued with the offensive with a pair of singles from Eliezer Alfonzo and Gabriel Noriega. However, the score was defined with a double by Wilfredo Tovar that sent Eliezer straight to the plate.

With this victory, Leones del Caracas maintains its record of 13 wins and 5 losses so far this season in the LVBP.
