Weekend Recap: Victories and Preparations for the Under 21, Under 15, and Under 18 Teams

The Under 21 they received a forfeit victory due to the last-minute withdrawal by Blitz Ciriè, so they are preparing for the clash with the Ferrara Dukes next weekend with an unexpected break week.

On Saturday afternoon, the Under 15 has restarted the march towards the playoffs after the setback recorded last Sunday in Milan.
Opposing the Frogs, the Jaguars struggled a bit at the start, then they sorted out the defense a bit, which was perhaps still traumatized by last week’s defeat, and in the second half they extended their attack by closing ranks and conceding little or nothing .
As always, the lion’s share went to Riccardo Brancaleoni, author of six touchdowns, to which were added the two scores by Mattia Papeo.
Of note is Mattia Di Tommaso’s interception, his second of the season, which stopped the Frogs’ attack at a crucial moment in the second quarter, allowing the Jaguars to take an important break and then carry it to the end of the match.

Next, the Under 18 confirmed its unbeaten record with another great defense performance that annihilated the Skorpions Varese.
A recovered fumble, several sacks, an interception returned to the end zone by Lazzaretto, are just some of the highlights of a defensive performance that set the tone for the game.
In attack, with almost the entire first half played with Tommaso Bono in the control room to replace Tommaso Bairo who had taken a knock, the ball moved well thanks also to the runs of Francesco Papeo.
It was Papeo who scored first with a 1-yard run, while in the second quarter Bono launched a gem for Daniele Latorraca for the second score from 19 yards.
Then you begin the show of the defense which, at the turn of the break, first mouths a punt with Andrea Liffredo which is then returned for a touchdown by Vincenzo Ippolito, then, at the beginning of the third quarter, intercepts the opposing quarterback with Paolo Lazzaretto giving the ball back to their attack.
Papeo scores again from four yards and at the end of the third quarter, after a second blocked punt, Bairo finds Latorraca from 30 yards for the touchdown which sends the game into running clock.
In the fourth period Lazzaretto precedes the opposing receiver again, returning the oval to the end zone from 25 yards and finally there is still room for the field goal attempted by Balzo from 44 yards, which ends up wide to the left of nothing.
The Seamen arrive next Sunday and the Jaguars will try to end the regular season undefeated.
