VR Bank RheinAhrEifel and DOSB Announce Winners of “Stars of Sports” Competition

VR Bank RheinAhrEifel and the German Olympic Sports Confederation (DOSB) honor sports clubs for their remarkable social commitment as part of the “Stars of Sports” competition. The VR Bank RheinAhrEifel award ceremony at the regional level took place at the administrative headquarters in Mayen.

Mayen. At the celebratory event, the winners were honored by Michael Nisius, Head of Sales Management, and Jan-Erik Burkard, Team Leader Marketing. Michael Nisius emphasized: “We are proud to support such committed sports clubs in our region and to recognize their exemplary social commitment. The ‘Stars of Sports’ stand for the recognition and appreciation of clubs that make an important contribution to the world beyond sport To keep company”.

This year’s award winners are:
1st place: Lützel Baskets 1956
2. Platz: Sen5 Karate
3rd place: SRC Heimbach-Weis 2000 in collaboration with the Neuwied Judo Club

The Lützel Baskets 1956 are committed to the further development of Koblenz as a basketball location with their corporate social responsibility model “Social Responsibility”. Its goal is to support young athletes and impart important values. The Baskets Lützel actively cooperates with daycare centers, schools and holiday camps to provide support in the areas of conveying values, integration work and promoting exercise and healthy eating.

The Sen5 Karate Club is intensively involved in the holistic promotion of young talent in the karate club. With almost 260 members under the age of 13, the club offers age- and level-appropriate training for young karate players. For the fourth time, the club is hosting one of the largest karate tournaments in the world, which is held in the Ring Arena at the Nürburgring race track. In addition to sporting training, Sen5 attaches particular importance to imparting important values ​​such as respect, helpfulness, attentiveness and politeness.

The SRC Heimbach-Weis 2000 and the Judo Club Neuwied, together with Dance Studio Impuls and the Special Education Therapeutic Center, have launched the “Heddesdorf Kitas in Motion” project. This project aims to combat motor deficits in kindergarten-aged children and offers regular exercise programs in daycare centers.

The “Stars of Sports” is an initiative by VR Banken and the German Olympic Sports Confederation for sports clubs that are socially committed beyond their sporting offerings. (PM)
