Violent Attack Leaves Man with Serious Head Injury in Athis-Mons

An inanimate man lying on the ground, a serious head injury, no weapon nearby or suspect. It is on the basis of these elements that an investigation was opened this Saturday, November 4 after a violent attack committed in Athis-Mons (Essonne).

It was around midnight this Friday evening when the police and emergency services intervened on Avenue Pasteur. A man has just been found by passers-by, his body half in a bush, between a bar and the Auguste-Delaune stadium. His skull is crushed, the trauma is significant. When the firefighters and SMUR of Juvisy arrived, the victim was in cardiorespiratory arrest.

“Very committed” vital prognosis

The emergency services managed to find a heartbeat, then transported the thirty-year-old, then in absolute emergency, to the Percy military hospital in Clamart (Hauts-de-Seine). This Saturday, “his vital prognosis is very serious”, underlines a source close to the case.

“An investigation into attempted intentional homicide has been opened,” confirms the Évry prosecutor’s office. It is the PJ (judicial police) of Évry-Courcouronnes which is responsible for the investigations. According to our information, the victim’s injury could have been caused by a sharp object, possibly a baseball bat. The police spent a good part of the night carrying out the usual observations and identifying possible witnesses to the scene. No arrests have taken place at this time.

About two months ago, in the same city, a 31-year-old woman was violently punched and burned with an iron by her ex-partner. The violence occurred at the victim’s home and then on the public highway.
