Villa Miter achieved its first victory as a visitor in the Argentine Basketball League this Friday, at the close of a tour that had three presentations.

They defeated La Unión de Colón (Entre Ríos) by 89 to 81, in a match played at the Carlos José Delasoie stadium in Colón.

With this result, the Villa left with a record of 2 wins and 3 losses in the Southern Conference.

From the initial jump, the Bahia team showed a sign of change, after the first two defeats. For the first time, a different configuration in the starting quintet with the inclusion of a perimeter player for extra shooting quota of 3 (Fernando Alfonso) by an internal player (Javier Bollo), to accompany Jano Martínez, Federico Harina, Álvaro Chervo and Franco Pennacchiotti.

And in the first minute there was a preview of what the game would bring: a triple by Alfonso, a recovery by Jano against Gago in defense and a foul on Pennacchiotti on the rival glass, for the insider’s 2-2 and the partial 5-0 in 53 seconds.

Villa Miter continued to grow and with goals distributed, since then Federico Harina joined in with 5 consecutive points to make it 12-4 in 3m20s. Then Chervo was added to make it a maximum of 24-7 with a triple and also more successes from Alfonso from afar.

Harina also fulfilled other intangibles that he usually contributes, such as organizing the Bahia attack and assisting. Thus, the team led by Gastón Fernández flowed in play and confidence. The deficit was that at the back they suffered some very clear arrivals from La Unión, near the rim, due to unoiled defensive coverage. That’s why the local team drew fouls, began to add points and went up 28-18 at the end of the quarter, with points from Gago.

Another curiosity about this good Tricolor start was the fact that the first change occurred only in the last 44s with the entry of Javier Bollo. A premonitory sign of what would be seen in the second quarter, in which the inmate gave Pennacchiotti a rest and shone with points in the paint and some eye-catching plays to become the visit’s scorer (16, with 6-7 in doubles and 4-5 in freestyle).

In general, the Villa rounded off a high-flying first half (they scored a maximum of 22 points twice) and good percentages, with 65% in doubles and 42% in triples.

In the third, La Unión came out to close the gap and get back into the game, from defense. Villa felt it in the first 2m30s in which they were unable to score, with Lucio Longoni “stuck” to Pennacchiotti and Franco Chiaboto leading the Entre Ríos offensive. It was Jano who broke Bahia’s streak with a double and then Harina found his shots to recover forcefulness (64-45, after 5m.).

That remained at the beginning of the last, with Villa Miter managing the times, the advantage and the confidence (79-59, 7m from the end).

Free for Franco Pennacchiotti, Tricolor scorer with 19 points.

La Unión strengthened its ring with a zonal defense that took away the clarity of the Bahia team and got closer to 79-68 at 4m. of the closure. Harina decompressed with a bang at 3m30s. (82-68), but La Villa missed some easy ones down low and could not establish a break.

That came a minute later, with a triple by Harina that left the score at 85-70, although Colón’s team managed to make up for the disadvantage with three-point conversions.
