The Dutch cyclist Mathieu Van der Poel will participate again in the men’s Elite race of the UCI Cyclocross World Cup – Benidorm Costa Blanca 2024, which takes place on January 21, and is the first big star confirmed for the Alicante event, in the one who will defend her victory this year.
Van der Poel, current world champion in both cyclocross and road, will defend his victory last year on the Costa Blanca, with a spectacular one-on-one against Wout van Aert (Jumbo-Visma), who has not yet decided whether he will attend the appointment to repeat battle.

On the road, with the Belgian team, he has won two Tours of Flanders, a Milan-San Remo, a Paris-Roubaix, a Strade Bianche, an Amstel Gold Race and a stage of the Tour de France, in addition to wearing yellow in the race itself. In the 2024 edition of the UCI Cyclocross World Cup – Benidorm Costa Blanca there will be three types of tickets for adults: the General, which will cost €15 until December 19; the VIP, with food, drinks and a privileged location with views of the finish line; and the Super VIP, which includes ‘gourmet’ products and parking next to the circuit.
Children between 7 and 14 years old will pay entry for the VIP and Super VIP areas, while for all children under 14 years old who want to access the General area and children up to 7 years old who want to enter the areas accompanied by an adult VIP and Super VIP, a Children’s ticket of only €2 will be available, the proceeds of which will be donated entirely to Aspanion and Centro Doble Amor.
