MADISON, Wis.–University of Wisconsin-La Crosse emerged with a 31-28 win over UW-River Falls at Ramer Field on Nov. 4, to secure at least a share of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) football championship.
The league title is the second straight and 35th in program history for the Eagles. No. 4-ranked UW-La Crosse (8-1 overall, 6-0 WIAC) can earn the championship outright with a victory over UW-Stevens Point on Nov. 11. No. 5-ranked UW-Whitewater (8-1, 5-1) can claim a piece of the title with a win in its remaining game on Nov. 11, over UW-Eau Claire and loss by UW-La Crosse.
UW-La Crosse also secured the conference’s automatic NCAA bid due to its 37-34 triumph over UW-Whitewater on Oct. 7.
