Initiated in 2020 by the City of Paris, Paris 2024 and the French Paralympic and Sports Committee (CPSF), “Inclusive Club” is the first 360° program intended for all sports clubs, in terms of welcoming people with disabilities . Indeed, despite their good will, a large number of sports associations feel the need to be supported. To do this, various objectives have been identified:

Remove the obstacles linked to prejudices in the reception and supervision of a public with disabilities. Establish confidence among participants, regarding the reception and support capabilities offered by the clubs. Respond to the specific constraints of the territory in terms of access to sports Raise awareness among clubs, so that they join a network of inclusive clubs. Accelerate the structuring and enrich the offer of sports practices and clubs.

The Department, a player in the “Inclusive Club” program

The Department of Val de Marne is one of the communities wishing to enrich its sports offerings for people with disabilities. To do this, our territory joined the “inclusive club” program on July 20, 2023, with the aim of consolidating its policy regarding access to sport. As of September 2023, 22 Val-de-Marnais clubs were already interested, in order to be supported and made aware of this sometimes too forgotten public:

A program conducive to the birth of new champions

The fantastic results from Tokyo 2020, affecting both able-bodied and disabled people, once again underline the sporting dynamics of our territory. Indeed, disabled sports were brilliantly represented during the last games, since several medals were brought home:

Nélia Barbosa (RSCC Champigny): silver medal in para canoe kayak – 200m KL3 Antoine Jesel (Aviron Marne et Joinville), Margot Boulet, Érika Sauzeau, Remy Taranto and Robin Lebarreau: bronze medal in para rowing (mixed coxed four) Marie Patouillet (US Créteil): bronze medal in para cycling on the track (C5 pursuit) + bronze medal in para cycling on the road (C4-5 race)

“Inclusive Club” is also that, contributing to the birth of vocations, but also the seeds of champions! The athletes of tomorrow need support, but above all access to structures and support that will best help them in their development.
