Ulyana Semyonova: I can only move in a wheelchair

The magazine “Privatā Dzīve” reports this week that the traditional Ulyana Semyonova Cup basketball competition took place recently, but she herself was not present, although she expressed that such an event was a great honor for her.

According to the information available to the magazine, she did not attend the event due to health reasons. She said:

“I can only move around in a wheelchair. I won’t move anywhere outside the house.”

The basketball player says that by following all current events in sports. She is not only interested in basketball, but also volleyball, football and athletics.

She is especially happy about the recent success of basketball players and believes that the new generation of athletes is different, which is why they manage to reach such high heights.

A year ago, the athlete had to have her leg amputated. She speaks reluctantly about her health problems: “I don’t want to say much, I’m sleeping at home and that’s it. I’m left without a leg. I don’t know who and how can help me. No one will glue my leg back on.”

As Ulyana spends her days at home, however, she does not complain about loneliness, there are regular conversations with athletes on the phone and they also come to visit Ulyana.
