Top talent Aberg celebrated his debut victory on the PGA Tour

Top talent Ludvig Aberg has now won his first tournament on the PGA Tour. The 24-year-old Swede won the title at the $8.4 million RSM Classic in St. Simons Island on Sunday (local time).

Thanks to an outstanding final round of 61, Aberg won four strokes ahead of the Canadian Mackenzie Hughes and the two Americans Tyler Duncan and Eric Cole. Matthias Schwab missed the cut at the tournament in the state of Georgia.

Aberg’s rise began when the world’s number one amateur turned professional in June. At the beginning of September he won his first tournament on the DP World Tour at the European Masters in Crans-Montana. Europe’s Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald praised the young Swede as a “generational talent” and predicted a successful career for him. Just four weeks later, Aberg and the European Ryder Cup team triumphed against the US stars in Rome.
