The XXIII Tour of Ibiza MTB SCOTT by Shimano, which will take place from March 29 to 31, 2024, will open registration on November 15, starting at 8 p.m., with a maximum capacity of 1,000 runners, as announced this Monday the organizers in a statement.
The fastest ones can register for 180 euros until December 15. If after this date there are numbers available, the price would rise to 210 euros.
The Ibizan round is one of the most popular pairs stage events in the national territory and increasingly attracts more and more cyclists from other countries such as Italy, Belgium, Portugal or the Netherlands.
“The Vuelta a Ibiza MTB SCOTT by Shimano is a unique experience, it doesn’t matter if you have already participated, we always manage to surprise. We try to improve ourselves and offer the participants something more. Every year the weather is different and so is the route. It is a test suitable for everyone, but with very technical sections. You have to train hard to enjoy this adventure. In 2024 there will be many new features that we will reveal little by little,” said Juanjo Planells, responsible for the round.
The round, which pays tribute to Bartolo Planells, covers the number of roads, trails and unpaved tracks that the island of Ibiza offers. Hundreds of kilometers that include very tough climbs and dizzying descents, with very technical sections mixed with other areas in which you have to pedal to maintain cruising speed.
It will cross the heart of the island through crop fields, hills, and pine forests to ride along the coves of the Ibizan beaches during Holy Week in 2024.
