The Unrelenting Work Ethic of LeBron James: A Testament to Greatness

The stories that describe the “sick” aspect of the competitors that were Michael Jordan et Kobe Bryant are numerous. But it is a character trait that ultimately joins all the greatest in this world, whatever the field. And in basketball, LeBron James is obviously no exception to this rule. Tyrese Maxey can attest to this.

« The numbers speak for themselves. How many years is this his NBA season? Twenty-second ? Twenty first ? His work ethic is still the same. He didn’t slow down and that’s what I find crazy. He always tries to get to the gym early. When we trained at 6 a.m., he did everything to arrive before me. He has 4 MVP trophies, 4 Finals MVP trophies, a whole bunch of awards… and he still wants to get to the gym before a 22 year old young man who has accomplished nothing. It shows who he is. Hats off to him. »

A journalist then asked the Philadelphia Sixers player to say a little more about the workout in question.

« My workout was at 6 a.m., I always arrive early around 5:30 a.m. to stretch. The next time he was there at 5 o’clock. I arrived, he was already sweating. I said to him ‘but what do you do?’ He told me he couldn’t let me beat him and be the first in the gym. I told him he was crazy. »

That didn’t stop LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers from losing very heavily – 44 points apart, the worst defeat of the King’s career – against Tyrese Maxey’s team (31 points) last night. But given his competitive instincts, it is possible that the Akron native will crack and demand changes within the California franchise.
