The emotional dedication of Francisco Solís
The Chilean judoka Francisco Solís has received numerous recognitions after winning the silver medal in his category at the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games. However, what has moved everyone has been his emotional dedication when receiving his medal.
In the midst of the enormous emotion that overwhelmed him, Solís dedicated his medal to all mothers who are housewives, despite the difficulties and shortcomings they may have at home, they raise their children with love and dedication. He also wanted to dedicate it to all parents who work far from their families, but always with the aim of giving them the best.
The Chilean judoka, originally from Osorno and a rural area called Puerto Nuevo in Los Ríos, remembered his humble origins and thanked his people for their support. Although many do not know his place of origin, Solís is proud of his roots and is happy to have the full support of his community.
In the final of the over 100 kilo category, Solís faced Cuban Andy Granda in a close competition, finally winning the silver medal.
