The ex-radio maker, best known as The Inspector on VRT Radio 2, remains arrested as a suspect in a large-scale sex case, but he may exchange his cell for electronic surveillance. That was decided by the council chamber on Monday. He was fitted with an ankle bracelet in prison and was allowed to leave prison with it.

Pichal was arrested at the end of August on suspicion of possessing and distributing images of child sexual abuse. He then resigned from the VRT with immediate effect. Two of his co-suspects, actor Reuben DB (34) and Benoit D. (35), were also arrested.
