Will Alexander Nübel (27) stay at VfB Stuttgart beyond next summer?
After the double contract extension of Manuel Neuer (37) and Sven Ulreich (35) at FC Bayern until 2025, one thing is certain: Nübel will not return to the German record champions after the end of the current season.

Since Nübel’s one-year loan ends next summer, there are now three scenarios for Stuttgart.
Scenario 1: FC Bayern extends Nübel’s contract again (currently until 2025) and loans him out to VfB again. The prerequisite for this is that all three parties agree on economically similar conditions to this season.
Nübel, who came in the summer for a loan fee of around one million euros, is estimated to earn around three million euros in Stuttgart. The Munich team would keep the option open that if Neuer’s career ends in one and a half years, Nübel will take over the Bayern goal from 2025.

Scenario 2: VfB Stuttgart signs Nübel firmly. The VfB bosses regularly emphasize that the goalkeeper (market value according to transfermarkt.de at 8 million euros) is simply too expensive for the Stuttgart team in the overall package of transfer fee and salary.
Nübel’s strong performances and possible millions in income in the summer from potential departures of top performers such as Serhou Guirassy (27) and Hiroki Ito (24) could persuade those responsible to rethink.
