The 46th Dakar Rally, which will pass through Saudi Arabia for the fifth time, will start on January 5, but the finish is expected on January 19. In total, the athletes will have to perform twelve speed stages and a prologue that will open the competition. The total length of the 2024 Dakar Rally will be 7,891 kilometers, of which 4,727 kilometers will be timed.
As the director of the rally David Kaster revealed, the 27-kilometer long prologue will be especially important, which will determine the starting order, in order to successfully overcome the first week of the competition, which Kaster described as “very difficult”.
In total, 778 participants, including drivers and teams, will take part in the competition. 137 motorcycles, 153 cars in all categories, 46 trucks, 10 quad bikes, 80 classic and 10 Dakar Future cars will take the start.
