The artist Matt Pokora invests in SIG Strasbourg

Matt Pokora and SIG Strasbourg formalized on Tuesday the artist’s entry into the capital of the club of which he becomes one of the majority shareholders. A native of the capital of the Grand Est region, Matt Pokora (38 years old) had expressed in recent weeks his desire to actively participate in the development of the club, champion of France in 2005 and five times finalist between 2013 and 2017. He had notably attended the first match at Rhenus Sport of the Betclic Elite season against Nanterre on September 17 (Strasbourg victory 71-57). Initially, he committed to 50,000 euros, then the maximum amount authorized for a shareholder.

This time he announces a personal investment of 300,000 euros. For this, the entity “SIG & Entreprises”, one of the two mutualist components structuring the SASP (Société Anonyme Sportive Professionnelle), with “SIG & Territoire (which brings together the supporters), modified its statutes during an assembly general Monday November 27. “The maximum investment amount in SIG & Entreprises has increased from 50,000 to 300,000 euros. This opening allows the entry into the capital of new shareholders including Matt Pokora to the tune of 300,000 euros,” indicated Christophe Schalk, president of “SIG & Entreprises. »

The Alsatian company “1DoTech”, created in 2021 and which brings together SMEs, has also increased its investment in the club’s capital to the same level as Matt Pokora and also becomes a majority shareholder.

Matt Pokora clarified his future scope of action on Tuesday during a press conference organized by the club: “The adventure begins here in my city. I want to invest myself financially and personally in the life of the club, such as artistic direction for the fan experience at Rhenus. I would like to bring to the club my energy and the light that I benefit from my job to attract new supporters. We will see the first effects when the next season launches. I want to see SIG jerseys on the street. »

Engaged in the Champions League (BCL), with a trip to Karsiyaka Izmir (Turkey) on Tuesday, the SIG is currently ninth (six wins-seven losses) after thirteen days of Betclic Elite.
