The 17th Konan Song Festival was held on October 22nd, the same day as the 2023 All Konan Gathering. The event will be held from 13:00 at the “i Stage” on the 1st basement floor of the iCommons. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, it will be held for the first time in a while, and instead of the traditional “dormitory song” event, the Koryo-kai (Konan University Glee Club Alumni Association) and Alumni Symphony Orchestra will be held. We have restarted the central new song festival.

The number of participants was 96, as the event time overlapped with “Yuki Seguchi Talk & Live”, and the current judo, kendo, and baseball clubs were unable to attend due to a match, which was the same as the previous time (2019 16th: (51 active members/total 192 members), but 4 members from the former Konankai (Mr. Shoji Inoue, Mr. Chohei Majima, Mr. Toshiro Fukui, Mr. Akira Okamoto), Mr. Hasegawa, Chairman of the Konan High School Alumni Association, and Mr. Onishi, Chairman of the Konan Gakuen Management Planning Guests included Mr. Yamauchi, Principal of Konan High School and Junior High School, Vice President of Parents’ Association Mr. Eguchi, and Mr. Eiji Yamamoto from Konan Settsu Association. The Konan High School Cheer Team’s schedule did not match up, so they participated via video, and two members of the newly formed Konan University Cheer Team also participated.

In the first part of the singing session, the Morita Song Festival Executive Committee sang the Konan High School school song and representative dormitory song “Seihagyo,” “Shoyo Uta III,” and “Expedition Cheer Song.” (Baseball club, Rugby club, Track and field club, Mountain club, Kendo club, Judo club, Tennis club, American football club) Alumni and former members of each club joined in a loud voice with the Koryokai (Konan University Glee Club Alumni Association). It was a great success with singing, cheering performance videos by the Konan High School cheering team, and cheers from the cheering station. In the third part of the singing session, we were treated to the wonderful performance of “Koichi Kishi” performed by the Koryokai (Konan University Glee Club Alumni Association), and at the end, we all sang the Konan School Song together.

At the end, former Alumni President Yoshihara gave a speech, saying, “The second singing festival at Konan University Okamoto Campus was able to show the existence of the alumni association,” and Marutani University Alumni Association Vice President gave closing remarks. Yes, I adjourned.
