Tennis Star Alexander Zverev Appeals Criminal Order for Bodily Harm as Ex-Girlfriend Shares Account of Their Relationship

Alexander Zverev is appealing against a criminal order for bodily harm. Now his ex-girlfriend, who is a co-plaintiff in the proceedings, is talking about her time with the tennis star.

“The defendant is accused of physically abusing a woman and causing damage to her health during a dispute in Berlin in May 2020,” a spokeswoman for the Tiergarten district court said on Tuesday. The defendant in this case is tennis star Alexander Zverev. The incident is said to have occurred between him and his then-girlfriend, model Brenda Patea. The Berlin public prosecutor’s office had submitted an application. The court followed this. There is now a total fine of 450,000 euros for Zverev. He lodged an objection. The presumption of innocence applies accordingly. Brenda Patea is now speaking for the first time about her relationship with Zverev.

The former “Germany’s Next Top Model” candidate reports that a contractual agreement was made to her in 2021, after the relationship ended. The 30-year-old told the “Süddeutsche Zeitung” that she was allegedly offered a one-off payment, maintenance and the right to live in a house owned by the tennis star.

Supply versus silence

In addition to other requirements, she would have had to undertake to maintain “the strictest secrecy” with regard to “all details of her previous life together, her previous partnership, her current relationship with the other person”. In the event of non-compliance, a contractual penalty and compensation would have been threatened, Patea reports to the “Süddeutsche”. According to Brenda Patea, she did not agree to the contractual agreement.

According to the “Süddeutsche”, Patea described “an up and down between intimate moments, jealousy, freaking out, violence and reconciliation” that took place between her and Zverev. The two got together in the fall of 2019 and were in a relationship for less than a year.

The court must now decide what will happen next for Zverev. The responsible department of the district court will now hear those involved in the proceedings again. Then there will probably be a trial, explained the court spokeswoman.
