Teenage Sensation Brenda Fruhvirtová Dominates ITF Guadalajara Tournament

ITF GUADALAJARA – Brenda Fruhvirtová (16) won six out of seven ITF tournaments at the end of the season. She did not lose a set in the last ten matches, lost only 12 games in total on the way to the trophy from the company with a subsidy of 40 thousand dollars in Guadalajara, Mexico, and still did not know the bitterness of the final defeat. In the fight for the 15th title, the Czech teenager did not give a chance to the Ukrainian Valerija Strachova (28), she won 6:1, 6:3 and won the 33rd of the last 34 duels on the ITF circuit.

Brenda Fruhvirtová won eight ITF W25 clay events last year and this year she is already gaining experience in bigger tournaments. She even qualified for the Australian Open and Roland Garros, only to suffer an unexpected debacle in the first round during her debut at the US Open.

However, due to her age, she still has a limited number of starts on the main WTA circuit, and thus continues to destroy her opponents at ITF tournaments, which have not matched the quality of her game for a long time.

Since the beginning of August, she has played seven ITF clay events with a match record of 33:1. After triumphs in Hechingen, Germany (ITF W60), Leipzig (ITF W25), Oldenzaal, Netherlands (ITF W40), Santa Margarita di Pula, Italy (ITF W25) and Heraklion, Greece (ITF W40), she also reached the ITF W40 event for the winner’s trophy in Guadalajara, Mexico.

The 16-year-old Czech did not lose a set in five duels, just like two weeks ago in Greece, allowing five opponents to play a total of only 12 games. In Saturday’s final, she didn’t give a chance to Valeria Strachová, twelve years older, from Ukraine, whom she defeated 6:1, 6:3.

Fruhvirtová once again confirmed that the final matches are her floor. She won all 15 title matches, losing only two sets. She triumphed for the seventh time this year, at the beginning of the season in Bengaluru, India (ITF W40) she also won the only title outside clay.

In the world ranking, she should move to 109th place and improve her maximum by ten places.
