Tahitian Swimmers Shine at Honiara Aquatic Center with Multiple Gold Medals

In the Honiara Aquatic Center pool, Nael Roux and Keha Desbordes, already titled respectively in the 1500 meter freestyle and the 50 meter backstroke, weighed down their suitcase a little more on Thursday with new gold medals for the leaders of the Tahitian selection. In the 400 meters medley, Nael Roux won in 4’41”15 and beat the Micronesian, Tasi Limitiaco, by three seconds. The Caledonian Baptiste Savignac completed the podium.

Keha Desbordes for his part, after his victory in the 50 meter backstroke, won the higher distance, the 100 meter backstroke this Thursday with a time of 57”53. The PLO sprinter beat two Caledonians, Ethan Dumesnil and Chrissander Cerda. Rohutu Teahui finished just off the podium over the same distance.

We will also remember from this 5th day of swimming, the bronze won by Déotille Videau in the 400 meter medley. And the 4×100 medley relays won silver for the boys and bronze for the girls. Tahitian swimming has 24 medals and this before the open water events which are to take place this Friday in the Solomons.
