Compared to the previous two years, when there was a lot of trouble because of the Qatar sponsorship, FC Bayern’s annual general meeting on Sunday was very harmonious.

Not even coach Thomas Tuchel (50/sat in the front row for 4.5 hours) or the new sports director Christoph Freund (46) received as much applause – nor did super striker Harry Kane (30/already in the English national team) in his absence. for his 17 league goals in eleven games.

Substitute goalkeeper Sven Ulreich (35/was not in the hall) received the loudest and, above all, the longest applause of the entire event!
When CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen (56) spoke about the comeback of regular goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (37/was not at the AGM as captain), he praised his representative.
After Dreesen praised “Ulle”, the whole hall (now BMW Park, formerly Audi Dome) suddenly went wild!
Background: After Neuer suffered a severe fracture of his tibia and fibula while skiing last December, Ulreich initially accepted the winter commitment of Yann Sommer (34) from Gladbach as Neuer’s replacement without complaint and lined up behind the Swiss, although He had already represented the five-time world goalkeeper several times in previous years when he broke his foot.

When Sommer moved on to Inter Milan in August and Bayern, after intensive efforts to find a new world-class goalkeeper, chose Ulreich as their temporary number one, he delivered impressively.
In the eleven games of the season before Neuer’s return at the end of October in the 8-0 win against Darmstadt, Ulreich repeatedly saved important points for the Tuchel stars with some incredible saves. BILD had already reported at the end of October that Bavaria was working on an extension of Ulreich’s contract, which expires in June 2024.
During the week, Dreesen said on DAZN before the Galatasaray game: “We are in talks to extend our contract and are very optimistic that we can do it together. He more than deserves it and is a fantastic person.”
“Ulle” should be rewarded with a new working paper for his great achievements as a new representative. When it comes to the regular place in the Bayern goal, Dreesen unsurprisingly also made it clear: “The fish belongs in the water, Manuel in the goal!”
