Successful Year for Archery Club: Increased Membership, National Championship Success, and New Equipment Investment

In addition to traditional events such as the Christmas shooting, the king shooting or the initiations, the 3D competition organized in Barraux was a real success with 342 competitors over the two days. But what was exceptional was undoubtedly the co-organization of the French 3D shooting championship in Bourg-Saint-Maurice (Savoie). “The competition brought together 550 very high level archers. There were four clubs of us organizing this national event, which had been prepared for a year and a half. For a week, we were there with around fifteen volunteers from Pontcharra. It was obviously tiring but above all very enriching,” confides the president.

In terms of results, this season, 13 archers took part in 15 competitions with 48 podiums, without forgetting the beautiful 7th place of Patrice Petroz in his category at the French championship. A very honorable sporting record that the president would like to further improve with new members and by aiming for the national championship for the most diligent.

The healthy cash flow made it possible to invest in equipment for beginners and beasts for 3D shooting.

For the new season, the club will confirm all its traditional organizations which will begin Thursday, December 7, from 6 to 9 p.m., with a shot counted for the Telethon at the indoor bowling alley.
