At the 3rd Lüner Rüschkamp Cup, a district individual tournament for all youth classes, the eager to train competitors from the Judofreunde Siegen-Lindenberg and the Judoclub Gernsdorf won a total of eleven medals. Four of them stood on the top podium.

JF Siegen-Lindenberg: In the AK U11, Lotta Vohs (-40 kg) started with a narrow victory by judges decision. In the second round she gave Jana Eckey (1. JJJC Lünen) the disadvantage with a hold. In the final it was tight again, but with cleverness Lotta Vohs brought home the victory and won gold. Jolina Sening (U13) even had to go to the mat four times and won all the fights early in the class up to 36 kg. She made an exclamation mark with two handhold victories and two successes with a foot throw. In the “Best of Three” Yehor Semenov (-50 kg) had the upper hand. With Sumi-gaeshi he made Nico Siebers from TSV Hagen look old. In the second meeting he quickly made everything clear with Tomoe-nage.

Two quick victories from Michelle Ens once again spoke for her quality. She first won up to 40 kg with two throwing techniques against Ida Hein (Kamen) and then paved her way to the final with a hold. Theo Hellwig (U15/-66 kg) had his first fight in the semifinals, which he unfortunately lost on the ground with an armbar against Ibrahim Hussein (Kentai Bochum). In the fight for “bronze” he was wide awake again and won with his special technique Tani-otoshi. Third place also went to Bohdan Semenov (U18) in the class up to 60 kg, who had to make it through the repechage round. With three wins and two defeats, Gero Anders (-37 kg) and Jonathan Gehrke (-40 kg) narrowly missed out on bronze in the U13 age group.

JC Gernsdorf: Mateo Steiner (AK U11) celebrated his tournament debut, and immediately achieved third place with a total of three wins. Nico Hellmann also recorded three victories, which meant he made it to the final, where his opponent was too strong. Jule Krämer had a great day: First she scored points against two good opponents, then won the club duel against Mara Gerhus, made it to the final and was awarded the gold medal after a handhold victory. Felix Wolf fought for third place. Janne Westphal (U18) started the tournament with two quick wins. That meant he made it to the final, but he had to narrowly admit defeat in a hard-fought fight.
