Real Madrid only 0-0 in the small derby against Rayo
MADRID. Catalonia rejoices, Madrid is sad. While FC Girona (4:2 against Osasuna) and FC Barcelona (1:0 against Real Sociedad) were each able to experience success on the 12th matchday of the Primera División, Real also had success after Atlético (1:2 against UD Las Palmas). suffered a setback – despite 22 shots, of which only five went directly to the opponent’s goal.
The Whites didn’t live up to their role as favorites on Sunday evening and couldn’t get past a 0-0 draw against Rayo Vallecano in front of 70,220 spectators at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu. What good is a success in the Clásico if you can’t win the small city derby in front of your home crowd?
Coach Carlo Ancelotti’s ensemble was dominant in the first half, but was unable to take advantage of any of its chances. After the 1:3 against Atlético and the 1:1 against Sevilla FC, it is the third slip-up of the current LaLiga season.
Two instead of four points ahead of FC Barcelona
Real are on 29 points after the draw, two points behind Girona, who lost the lead in the table. The lead over Barça is two points and that over Atlético is four points. Next Saturday, Real will host Valencia FC at the Bernabéu (9 p.m.), where they will also face Sporting Braga in the Champions League on Wednesday (9 p.m.).

Ancelotti compensated for the loss of Aurélien Tchoauméni with Eduardo Camavinga.
