Since the 2017-18 season, VAR has left all attackers (and others) in suspense: will it be a goal or not? Ciccio Caputo had joked about it on Sky after the match against Fiorentina: “Since the VAR came into existence, at least twenty of them have been cancelled.” But is he really the striker of the goal taken away by technology? Here is the Opta ranking which takes into account all the times the referee disallowed a goal after reviewing it on the monitor (therefore without counting the goals disallowed with automatic offside)
