Serbia, USA, and China Secure Tickets to 2024 Paris Olympic Games in 3×3 Basketball

The 3×3 men’s basketball teams of Serbia, USA and China, occupying the first three places in the world ranking, have secured tickets to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) announced on Wednesday.

Among the men’s national teams, the first place in the world ranking is occupied by Serbia, which triumphed in the World Cup this summer, the second place is the silver medalist of the World Cup, the USA, and the third place was China.

Meanwhile, the Latvian national team finished the World Cup in third place in June and won a ticket to the qualification tournament for the Olympic Games, which will take place in the first half of 2024. FIBA will announce the venues and participants of the qualification tournament in December. On the other hand, among the women’s teams, China is the leader, followed by the USA and France, respectively. All three national teams have also secured a place in the Paris Olympics.

Eight national teams are expected to compete in the 3×3 basketball tournaments of both sexes at the Paris Olympic Games, so five more women’s and men’s national teams will be determined in the qualifying tournaments, which will compete in Paris. The 3×3 basketball tournaments at the Paris Olympic Games will take place from July 30 to August 5. In 2021, at the Tokyo Olympic Games, the first Olympic champion in 3×3 basketball became the Latvian national team, whose team consisted of Nauris Miezis, Kārlis Pauls Lasmanis, Edgars Krūmiņš and Agnis Čavars.
