After “Scuola Attiva Kids”, “Scuola Attiva Junior” also begins, the project intended for lower secondary schools which aims to encourage the discovery of many sports and the promotion of correct lifestyles, thanks to sports weeks, sporting afternoons and the participation of over 40 National Sports Federations and Associated Sports Disciplines.

“Junior Active School” is a project promoted by Sport and Health and the Ministry of Education and Merit, in collaboration with the Minister for Sport and Youth through the Department for Sport of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, which completes the commitment to younger students in continuity with “Scuola Attiva Kids” which is instead offered to primary school pupils.
The project, which last year involved more than 3,160 lower secondary schools throughout Italy and 700,000 pupils, provides, free of charge for the schools, a multi-sport offer and many activities and innovations dedicated to children and teachers.

These include the Sports Weeks, entire weeks dedicated to the various sports combined with the school, in which federal technicians work alongside the Physical Education teacher during lesson times.
These therefore represent new challenges for the children, under the guidance of expert technicians as well as an opportunity for teachers to delve deeper into the details of the various disciplines.
The project also includes sports afternoons, free afternoon courses held by federal technicians combined with the school gym, outdoors or in other suitable sports facilities, allowing the children to have a further opportunity to practice and deepen the disciplines proposed during the Sports weeks.
The “AttiviAMOci” information campaign is also planned, with practical suggestions and insights on the topic of correct lifestyles, as well as digital materials, content for students, teachers and families and a contest for classes, with many prizes up for grabs.

Furthermore, joining the project also allows schools to receive kits of sports equipment, provided by the sports organizations participating in the project and left to the schools that organize the sports afternoons. The kit includes sports equipment suitable for the school context and the age of the children, useful for the continuation of the various sports.
At the end of the project, the final parties will take place, real moments of sport, organized in each school participating in the project at the end of the year, with courses and small competitions and performances on the disciplines already experienced by the children.

The 2023/2024 school year also includes some new features, including informative webinars, created by the Federations and Sports Disciplines and open to interested teachers and technicians, to delve deeper into the peculiarities of the different sports, the Wellbeing Days and the Open days sports, educational outings that schools can organize to promote physical and sporting activity in a natural environment or at local sports facilities, in collaboration with the federal technicians involved in the project.
