Rossi and Wild are rejected before their trip to Europe

The Minnesota Wild travel to Europe with some worries in their luggage. The Wild suffered an 8-3 home defeat against the Dallas Stars in the National Hockey League (NHL) on Sunday and are only sixth in the Central Division after seven defeats in their last nine games.

Vorarlberg’s Marco Rossi prepared Lettiere’s 2:3 (20th minute). Of the eight goals conceded, the 22-year-old was only on the ice for the last goal. Dallas won the game with special teams in front of 18,500 fans at the Xcel Energy Center. The Central Division leaders scored five power play goals and two shorthanded goals.

Significant defensive problem

Minnesota primarily has a defensive problem. Head coach Dean Evason’s team is in eighth place in terms of goals scored, but has conceded the second most goals with 64 behind bottom team San Jose Sharks (67).

Minnesota is now heading to Europe. As part of the Global Series, Rossi and Co. will be in Stockholm and will face the Ottawa Senators next Saturday (5 p.m.) and the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday (2 p.m.).
