Roger Federer announced his retirement as a tennis player in September 2022. But the 42-year-old doesn’t get bored so quickly.

The reason for this is his various sponsorships. He has already shot several commercials for Switzerland Tourism. Most recently with talk show host Trevor Noah.

That’s what it’s about

Roger Federer has recently been drawing attention to himself by regularly attending concerts.

Despite retiring from tennis, the 42-year-old has his hands full.

This is shown by a look at his active sponsorships.

Since Roger Federer put down his tennis racket over a year ago, his schedule has been less full. The 42-year-old seems to like to fill his free time by attending concerts – most recently with Andrea Bocelli in the Hallenstadion. A look at his advertising contracts shows that the Basel native has had a lot to do since ending his career.

There are around 14 active sponsorships listed on its website. Including Switzerland Tourism, in whose advertising videos he has been seen several times. His job at Sunrise is similar. He lends his face to the telecommunications company for advertising purposes. However, he is actively involved as an entrepreneur with the On shoe brand. As the company writes, he uses his unique experience to take product development, marketing and the fan experience to a new level. He also has his hands full at the clothing brand Uniqlo. At the end of August he presented his first fashion collection, which he designed together with fashion designer Jonathan Anderson.

How much money does Roger Federer make?

According to Forbes, Roger Federer was able to collect around 115 million francs in prize money during his active tennis career. This puts him behind Novak Djokovic (140 million francs) and Rafael Nadal (116 million francs), but he is out of competition on the tennis court. Over the years, his clever marketing is said to have earned him around a billion francs. This year alone he earned 84 million francs, putting him in ninth place on the list of the highest-paid athletes. Serena Williams is the only other person in the ranking who is no longer active in sports. But it is a distant 49th.

So he doesn’t have to worry about money since his resignation. In a recent interview with the German “GQ” he revealed what he misses about tennis: “What I miss are the friends that I always automatically saw through playing tennis, like my classmates at school. That was great. You now have to actively arrange appointments with them, which is of course a change.” But he now enjoys his time with his family even more.

This also includes regular concert visits. In July he quickly became Coldplay’s fifth band member. During the song “Don’t Panic” he set the pace with a shaker on the Letzigrund stage. The fact that it is built next to the tennis court, close to the water, was proven by the appearance of opera star Andrea Bocelli.
