Robin Gosens will now have some sleepless nights, but not because of his football career. The national player has become a dad again.
For one of the German national players there is good news, at least privately, after the recent defeat against Austria. Robin Gosens has become a father for the second time. The 29-year-old, who moved to Union Berlin in August, announced the birth of his baby on Instagram.
Gosens already has a two-year-old son with his wife Rabea. He’s getting a brother now. The picture shows the parents’ hands and the newborn’s feet. In a very short time, the post received more than 16,000 likes – Gosens has 572,000 followers in the network.
Break from football due to childbirth
The national player had already made it known beforehand that young talent was on the way. He had shared a photo of himself and his wife. Rabea’s baby bump was clearly visible under a jacket. Because of the impending birth, Gosens also canceled his participation in the DFB training camp and in the games against Turkey and Austria.
For Gosens, the move to Union Berlin made his long-held Bundesliga dream come true. In his unusual career, the Rhinelander moved from Heracles Almelo in the Netherlands to Atalanta Bergamo in 2017. A surge in performance followed in Serie A, which led the winger to the national team and also to Inter Milan. But it was hardly used there. In Berlin, however, people count on him.
