As on the first day of competition and this morning, the majority of the provincial teams defeated their rivals in each of the matches that were held.
Regarding Volleyball, the women’s team beat its counterpart from Los Lagos 3-0 (25-11, 26-24 and 25-17), while the men’s team also did so 3-0 (25-21 , 25-20 and 25-22) against Araucanía.
In turn, Men’s Soccer lost in a very close and fought match against the Araucanía team by 2-1 with an agonizing goal in the minute of injury time, which means that they must wait for tomorrow’s match between the Chilean team and Tierra del Fuego to determine which instance it advances to.
For its part, Judo gave the first bronze medals of the discipline for Río Negro by the native of Cinco Saltos Danna Bañares in the -48 kg category and the Cipoleños Agustina Burgos in -52 kg and Tomás Guzmán in -60 kg .
While Swimming continued to add medals to the already great performance from Rio Negro, with the second place of the Bariloche native Alejo Cabanillas in the 100 m backstroke and the third place of the Cipoleño Valentino Pascuali in the 100 m freestyle and the also native of Bariloche Leticia Vaieretti in the 200 meters breaststroke.
On the other hand, Cycling also left positive feelings, with the second place of Valentina Orcito from Roca in the women’s road race and the 4th and 5th places of Leandro Zalazar de Allen and Lorenzo Heredia de Roca in the men’s race, placing the combined Rio Negros on the edge of the podium in the general table of both disciplines.
Tomorrow will be a day of definitions, since sports as a whole will finish their group stage and will define who will fight for the medals in each of their disciplines, with Río Negro being a luxury protagonist and waiting for positive results in men’s soccer.
