Retracing the Journey of Roland Garros: A Unique Exhibition in Honor of a French Aviator

Until Thursday, November 30, the Ubac-VG (Barcarésian Union of Veterans and War Victims) is organizing an exhibition in the hall of the town hall which retraces the journey of the famous Roland Garros pilot.

Freely accessible, this exhibition made up of around thirty panels looks back, with supporting photographs, on the life of the French aviator. Loaned by Argat (Roland Garros Tennis Aviation Association), these unique documents make it possible to retrace the itinerary of Roland Garros, lieutenant pilot during the Great War, who was shot down in an aerial combat above Saint -Morel, near Vouziers (Ardennes) on October 5, 1918 on the eve of his 30th birthday.

Exhibition on view until Thursday, November 30, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. The opening of the exhibition will take place on Thursday, November 23 at 6 p.m. This opening will be followed by a conference led by Colonel Fernando Sendra.
